“Appetite” depicts the thrilling attraction and dangerous tension between two newly-acquainted characters going toe-to-toe in wits and intellect, told from the suspicious perspective of the protagonist. Influenced by the universe of fantasy and sci-fi, Kitt Mae - with Los Angeles soul/hip-hop producer Bubbs - carves out a vibrant world for her characters with soundscapes of dark pop, Bay Area hip-hop, & gilded R&B. Mixed by San Jose, CA's Ryan Palma (Rich Rocka, Akon) and mastered by Sacramento’s Nicolas de Porcel (Kendrick Lamar, Summer Walker), Bubbs’ sparkling & sinister synths strobe between a funky bass line imbued with the iconic Bay Area bounce, creating a pop song that is distinctly West Coast. Much like the elements of the track, the two characters prowl around each other, unsure whether it's a dance or a fight, but when both inevitably collide, the confrontation will either end in romance or destruction.
